Note that the number of rooms mentioned in an advert (e.g. '2 Zimmer Wohnung' or '3.5 Zimmer Wohnung') excludes the kitchen and bathroom. A 'half room' is added if one area of the apartment, for example the hallway, provides significant additional living space.

Some sites provide tax calculators to help you find the commune with the most beneficial tax regimes for income/local taxes, etc..

These sites are also a great place to advertise your current flat/house to a potential 'nachmieter' (the next tenant) for when you want to move out before the end of your lease. Ads are free on some sites.
